One thousand, six hundred and sixty-seven hours! This is the number of volunteer hours recorded on the Volunteer Center website for the first quarter of 2017 (January-March). Of course, numbers don’t tell the whole story. Volunteers throughout the region contributed their time feeding children, engaging disabled veterans, teaching children and adults to read, writing grants, saving people money through free tax preparation and working to educate our communities about healthy lifestyles.

United Way is honored to recognize volunteers region-wide who provided over 10 hours of service to their communities recorded through our Volunteer Center. These volunteers are Laurie Allen, Laken Blair, Cathy Bolling, Anna Bondy, Scott Bradley, Emily Breeding, Crystal Breeding, Teresa Collier, Glenda Collins, Cassandra Combs, Jason Corvin, Ron Davis, Brittany Davis-Hoopai, Gene Denton, Trish Dixon, Carolyn Farmer, Ruthann Froberg, Dalton Frye, Camille Garcia, Sandy Harvey, Phylis Hatcher, Alice Hill, Harold Hill, Janice Hurd, Mark Keith, Andrea Keith, Matthew Lorah, Derek Lyall, Edward Malecki, Candace Marcum, Kayla Miller, Alex Mitchell, Randall Owens, Richard Pannell, Linda Petty, Jerry Pugalee, Carol Royal, Barbara Sikora, Alexis Slemp, Natasha Smith, Carol Stines, Monty Vernon, Austin Weaver and Gina Wohlford.

We are excited about our new Volunteer Incentive Program and the President’s Award for Volunteerism. To learn how you can get involved, contact our Volunteer Center Manager, Debby Loggans at dloggans@unitedwayswva.org or 276-525-4101.
